What the Sisterhood is

What the Sisterhood is

Gatherings are a few hours, a few times a year. The seasons that need a sisterhood are longer than that. The Sisterhood is the room between gatherings: a members' space on this site where the conversation, the help and the work carry on when the brunch is over.

It exists for one reason. A woman who walked in alone should not stand alone, and she should not have to wait for the next date on the calendar to find out she is not.

It is not a church, not a shelter, not therapy and not a crisis line, and it says so on every page. It is a community organization, run by Kionelie Ortega and the women who show up.

A group of women together, laughing

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Matthew 18:20, KJV

What is inside

Six rooms, one seat. Every one of them was designed around the woman who needs it most, not the one who needs it least.

What is inside

Community

A moderated board with rooms for real talk, prayer, single mamas, money, celebrations and asking for help. Post under your name or as a sister.

Her Story

What she walked through and how she walked out. Read by a person before it appears, anonymous by default, witnessed rather than debated.

Resources

Shelter, housing, therapy, legal help, money and work, faith and recovery. Checked by a human, one tap to call.

Money tools

The Freedom Fund, a one-income reset, a safety stash, a debt untangler. Each ends with a next step and a resource, not just a number.

Learning

Three written courses and a short orientation. No video, no rush, your progress kept for you.

Walk With Me

A walking partner for a hard season, matched by Kionelie's team. Both sides agree before a word is exchanged.

Who it is for

Every gathering stays open to every woman, member or not. The Sisterhood is for the ones who want the room to stay open in between.

Who it is for

A woman in a hard season

Leaving something, recovering from something, carrying a household on one income, reading this on a phone somebody else checks. Her safety outranks every other number we could measure, and the whole room is built around that.

A woman who wants to pour in

Time, money, skills, prayer, presence. The Sisterhood is where that pouring has somewhere to land between gatherings.

A woman building something

A business, a degree, a calling, a career change. A room where the ambitious thing does not sound arrogant and the scared thing does not sound like quitting.

Two doors, one room

Pick the door that fits the season you are in. You can change it later.

Two doors, one room

Sister

Set your own membership. The Sisterhood runs on what its members put into it: rooms, food, materials, the quiet costs nobody sees. Choose what it is worth to you, from $20 a month.

And hear this clearly: if money is the thing standing between you and this room, enter the code KIONELIE and come in free. Nobody will know which door you came through, and no door leads to a different room.

  • $20, $35, $50 a month, or any amount you choose
  • Change it or cancel it any time, no questions
  • Every dollar lands in the Sister Fund, counted in public

Volunteer

Free, always. Time, skills, prayer, presence, a ride, a room set up two hours early. Volunteers sit at the same table with the same seat, and one account can be both.

  • No fee, no upsell, no second-class door
  • See where help is needed and log your hours when the hub opens
  • Become a Sister later, or never. Both are fine
Come in as a Volunteer

About money, plainly. The card payment door is not open yet. When you save your seat as a Sister you choose your amount and nothing is charged until it opens; you will hear first. Gifts are not tax deductible. MySistas is not a 501(c)(3), and we say so plainly.

Why join, and how

Why join, and how

Because the room is safe on purpose. A Leave quickly button on every page. Display names, never legal names. Every profile field private until you turn it on. Anonymous posting. Stories read by a person before they appear. No member-to-member messages in this version, deliberately. Event addresses only by RSVP.

Because it is honest about money. You set the amount. The fund is public. Nobody is ranked by what they gave, and nobody is shown who used the code.

Because it is small enough to be real. No algorithm, no feed, no ads. Kionelie's team reads the board, reviews the stories and answers the messages.

  1. Choose your door. Sister, Volunteer, or both.
  2. Pick a name and a password. Any name you like.
  3. Sisters set an amount. From $20, or the code KIONELIE.
  4. Come in. Your seat is saved the moment you finish.

The email list

Not ready for a room yet? The free email list is where gathering dates go first, before Instagram sees them, with encouragement written by Kionelie rather than a template. No selling, no spam, one click to leave.

Join the email list

The list lives on Kit, at mysistas.kit.com, which handles the sending and the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. That page is run by MySistas.

Questions about joining

Short answers about what each door actually means.

Questions about joining

No. The email list is free and lives on Kit; it is where gathering dates go first. The Sisterhood is the members' room on this site. You can be on one, the other, or both.

No. Every gathering stays open to every woman. Membership adds the room between gatherings.

Sisters choose their own monthly amount, from $20. The code KIONELIE sets it to $0. Volunteers come in free. Nobody is shown who paid what, and gifts are not tax deductible.

No. Choose any display name. Your safety beats our curiosity. Every profile field stays private until you turn it on.

Not in this version. Deliberate. Open rooms keep everyone safer than closed doors. You can always write to Kionelie's team from inside the room.

Read the safety page before you sign up. Every page has a Leave quickly button, you can sign in with a password so we never email you a way in, and nothing you post has to carry your name.

There is a seat with your name on it

Come in as a Sister or a Volunteer. Both doors open onto the same room.
